appGENIUS – Your salon in your client’s pocket

This is a personalised app for your salon/spa helping your business engage with your clients simply and effectively. Apps are a great way of complimenting your salon system as many contain features which ensure your business continues to run smoothly. Alergy Alert in SALONGENIUS

The first salon software system to include the full suite of allergy alert test client consultation questions, allowing stylists to keep all client records secure within their salon management system using myGENIUS. SALONGENIUS Technical Histories and Allergy Alert integration via myGENIUS provide a complete record of a client’s colour history, allowing stylists to offer a safe and effective colour care service, while offering the stylist peace of mind that they are operating in a way that means they are protected under their insurance policy without necessarily having to allergy test before every colour application.

The allergy alert consultation in myGENIUS also highlights certain situations where allergy alert tests are necessary – for example if the client is transferring to a new colour manufacturer/ product brand, or has had a previous reaction and/or has had a tattoo, henna or black tattoo or permanent make-up since their last colour.

The Allergy Alert Consultation and Colour Record Card was developed by the National Hairdressers’ Federation (NHF), TONI&GUY and industry leading insurance companies ,giving hairdressers greater flexibility over allergy testing.





SalonSpy –  The equivalent to Trip Advisor for hairdressers

SalonSpy is a free service to existing SALONGENIUS customers, you can be registered and set up in minutes – this is the perfect platform for your clients to tell everyone who fabulous you really are! So instead of blowing your own trumpet someone else can do it for you! The power of word of mouth to both salon owners and clients can be utilised by using SalonSpy.

Only 14% of online consumers trust advertising, but 90% trust recommendations from people they know and 70% trust recommendations from strangers.

Reviews are the new advertising – by giving your business an interactive platform you can connect with larger audiences whilst managing your online reviews. SalonSpy lets you respond to reviews by adding your own comments, so even if you receive a negative review you can turn it into a positive by showing you care.

You can set you SALONGENIUS system up to text your clients (SMS messages would be charged for) as they leave the salon asking them to leave a review. When your client leaves a review they will be asked if they would like to recommend a friend via Facebook. A personalised voucher is delivered to your friends wall. Marketing

Have you ever considered the power of your database? You have so much data at your fingertips within your SALONGENIUS system; with over 100 reports you can drive your marketing campaign to those clients that will give you the biggest return meaning you also get the most out of your marketing budget. Find clients of a particular demographic who haven’t visited the salon in a while, who’s celebrating a birthday this month or those who have favoured a particular product range. With both email and SMS functionality within the system, or if you wanted to embrace the year of the postcard, you have numerous options to let your clients know you are thinking about them and to get them back into the salon spending their money.

Stock Control

Isn’t it annoying when you go to the shop and there is no milk or bread left on the shelf?! Now imagine if you were running a colour promotion and your colour shampoo and conditioner has run out! With SALONGENIUS there is now no excuse for out of stocks as it does your stock control for you. All your stock management is looked after; salon use, retail sales, staff purchases and even damaged stock. Winners Announced!!!





The SALONGENIUS awards 2016 were to recognise and support the hard work, achievements and initiatives of our customers in the hair and beauty industry. This is our first year we have had the awards, we had some amazing applications and really enjoyed reading about our customers and hearing all about your salons.

The Categories we were judging on were for the Front of House Team of the Year, Manager of the Year, Retail Salon of the Year and Salon of the Year. There was £500 up for grabs for Salon of the Year and £250 for the other categories.
